The project is a new erection of a 2.5 storey semi-detached house at 15 Moreton Close. The land area is 400sqm and built-up area 650sqm. The spatial strategy for a semi-circular house reminiscing "Half Moon" is born out of a difficult triangular site. It creates the dynamism, geometry and composition of the house. The owner's fondness of koi fish leads to the idea of a continuous semi-circular shaped koi pond around the house, making the house seem to float on water. The intersection of the curved master room wing and the guestrooms wing creates an interesting incidental circulation space in which a center-piece suspended sculptural curved staircase is created.
