Terracot

The home centers upon areas of conserved terracotta flooring with textures embedded and documented akin to carvings on slate. For the children, the foundation of their formative years, the parents, a nest of love and labor created to house a family of their own. As the children mature into adulthood and parents approach retirement, the nest undergoes transformation as the inhabitants transit into the next stage of their lives. The home and spaces may have changed but the earthen floors help history intact where every step on the ground reads as braille, evoking memories that no photo can replicate.
